Welcome to this page about my home town! I grew up and went to school in Troy until I got married at age 19 and moved away to Florida in 1978. I have been back several times since then, and I am always amazed at what a charming place it is. Of course, when I was a kid, it was a lame, boring place with its glory days behind it. But there was so much I didn't know, and therefore could not appreciate. This page is my tribute to what turns out to be a pretty wonderful place. However, I will not be moving back. I've made my life in Gainesville, Florida. And if I moved away, I would probably have the same fond thoughts of it after I started to miss it.

At left is "Traffic Conditions". I don't know where this was in Troy, but alleyways behind homes were a part of my early childhood. The garbage trucks collected our trash in the alley behind our house in North Troy.

There is another painting is featured at my Yahoo! Groups page, and it's called, "Home Coming GI". It's a famous one, and my old high school friend, Ralph, tells me he knew where the house in the picture was because he grew up near it.
